Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual Warfare… the last image of the series. I don’t have to much to say about it accept that it never seemed finished. I just had to decide it was done and put it aside. I guess that is the nature of spiritual warfare as well. In a sense it is never finished… the human brain and heart being such incredibly fertile battlefields. One thing that did come to mind when I was doing this piece – a personal struggle of mine – the need to control the tongue. From James:

“…the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.”

I sometimes find myself way to quick to fall into this form of corruption allowing circumstances, whatever the source, to get the better of me.
