Presently a Commercial Pruducer for MassLive.com | June 2003 - Present.

Provided design experience in a wide range of media and for a variety of end uses: assessed clients needs, formulated a creative strategy, prepared cost estimates, developed and presented comps for approval, prepared camera ready/Internet ready art work and design. Supervised and participated in all aspects of prepress production work: preflighting, imposition & trapping, film output, stripping, match prints and blue lines, plate burning and processing. Kept inventory, ordered supplies, and dealt with outside vendors.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette, Northampton, MA
Advertising Production Manager, June 1993 - June 1999

Managed the daily production of display advertising for the Daily Hampshire Gazette, The Amherst Bulletin, Hampshire Life and all related Gazette commercial products. The Gazette is over 210 years old, one of the oldest newspapers in the country, and serves Western Massachusetts with a circulation of 21,000. The Amherst Bulletin is a weekly broad sheet newspaper that serves Amherst Massachusetts, circulation 12,000. Hampshire Life is a weekly magazine distributed throughout Hampshire County Massachusetts, circulation 12,000.

Supervised an award winning production team of five graphic artists. Delegated and monitored the flow of work through the department. Interfaced with other managers and staff and re-engineered production procedures and interdepartmental communication, updated computer systems and graphics related software, and maintained the departments standard of quality, accuracy, and customer service.

Managed the daily production of display advertising for the Daily Collegian, the largest college daily in New England - circulation 19,000. Hired, trained, and supervised student production teams and taught them the fundamentals of traditional and digital graphic design and production including computer training.
